This Goodyear-welted Balmoral in black hearkens back to a long, rich history, and has none other than Prince Albert to thank for its existence. In 1850, Queen Victoria’s husband commissioned the infamous shoemaker Joseph Sparkes Hall with creating a comfortable hiking boot that he could wear in the Scottish highlands around Balmoral Castle as well as in the British court. And thus the Balmoral was born.
