N° 13 WS details

From the athletes of the fifties to the grunge movement of the nineties and the skaters of the modern era – the high-top trainer has been a comfortable and simultaneously relaxed version of the casual shoe for decades. Made of linen in keeping with tradition, No. 13 WS is a more elegant version of the popular classic, handcrafted in Italy.

Handcrafted high-top trainers for women

With a high-top shaft that reaches over the ankle, No. 13 WS is a modern interpretation of the classic flat trainer. While the soft box calf bolsters the exclusivity of these high-top trainers, the delicate seams along the shaft pieces and on the heel accentuate the upper section of the shoe, which is otherwise undecorated.

The open ten-eyelet lacing can be tied in several different ways depending on personal preference. Either the upper rows can be left untied in favour of a sporty look so the flaps can still be seen, or the shoes can be laced up completely. The second option is particularly recommended when the goal is to allow the high-top trainers to disappear under the pants of the wearer. Furthermore, this second option guarantees that the shaft fits more narrowly on the ankle and provides more stability to the foot.

Generally, nude-coloured high-top trainers adapt well to the comfort requirements of their wearer, not least because of the thin synthetic sole and the soft footbed. Additional breathability is provided by three ventilation holes with gold eyelets on the insole. The subtle colouring is particularly suited for combinations with other colours.

‘Trainer’ is a catchall term that refers to athletic shoes. These types of shoes were first produced in America in 1860. Known for their flexible rubber soles, these comfortable shoes were originally created for track and field events, the requirements of which continue to influence trainer design. Trainers have been popular since the 1960s, and are worn on an everyday basis. Today they are available in all kinds of forms and colours—the trainers in our collection, for instance, are special, premium models.

Trainer Last

Trainer Last

The trainer last is very similar to the sporty last — it also ensures wearing comfort at the ball of the foot. This type of last is distinguished by a gently rounded toe cap, flat instep and roomy overall width. Suitable for average-width feet.

Box Calf

Box Calf

This shoe’s upper has been crafted from medium-soft, fully-dyed calfskin. The technical term for this type of premium leather is "box calf". Box calf boasts an even grain and a firm grip.

Made in EU

While most of our peers in the shoe industry are still unable to guarantee shoes that are »made in the EU«, we’re able to prove that our shoes are just that. We use leather from France and Germany, manufacture our shoes in Spain, and run distribution and logistics in Germany—our shoes are 100% made in Europe.

Environmentally sustainable

For many companies, all that matters are the profits; they fail to take notice of the disastrous conditions under which hides are taken in Bangladesh, or shoes are manufactured in China. We turn instead to traditional European tanneries and Spanish craftsmanship, to the benefit of man and nature alike.

Our promise: since you’re purchasing directly from the manufacturer, you’re spared the typical high margins. You’re also spared the additional cost of paying for a brand name. Thanks to our advantageous wide reach and our low cost structure, we’re able to offer sensationally low prices.

From the provenance and treatment of the leather we use, to the conditions in our Spanish factory, to delivery with our logistics partner, we don’t leave any stone unturned. We provide copious, transparent information on every step in our supply chain.

Our team was founded by a pair of shoe lovers, and each and every employee focuses on satisfying our shoe-loving customers. Whether it’s graphic design, sales, marketing, editorial, or customer service, we handle all aspects of our business internally, ensuring our total control over all processes. We’re also owner-managed.

Your feedback

Your opinion is important to us; that’s how we define our business. If you’d like to express your satisfaction with our products and services, let us know. You can read reviews from other customers as well as experts in the shoe industry on the site. Your satisfaction is our top priority!

The values we live by

Lots of brands are quick to conceal the production methods behind their products, as well as the origins of the materials they use. We, on the other hand, have nothing to hide. From the very beginning, our products have been »Made in the EU«, in the classic sense. As such, we treat both our fellow man and the natural environment in a way that’s ecologically sustainable and ethically responsible. Each step on our supply chain is entirely transparent for you to see—that’s a promise we’re happy to stand by.
