Sporty trendiness and premium comfort are combined in these Goodyear-welted men’s trainers in blue velours. Their velvety suede upper and multicolored rubber sole underscore their laidback charm, while the sophisticated materials from which they are made (and the meticulous way in which they are made) establish the exclusivity of their modern, versatile design.
No. 967 is another addition to our Goodyear-welted men’s collection that represents a modern take on a storied legend: a blue trainer in soft velour leather. Trainers were originally purely athletic shoes, became leisure favorites for generations, and have long been enjoying a sensational comeback. Moreover, trainers have now advanced further to conquer terrains that seem fundamentally unlikely given their sporty flair, such as the business world.
No. 967 is distinguished by the blue velours upper with a short nap used to make the entire shaft, and which underscores the modern appeal of its design. A delicate double seam along the curved shaft piece edges, partially accompanied by subtle perforation, adds another dynamic touch. Closed seven-eyelet lacing and a lightweight rubber outsole are also in keeping with classic trainer design, and ensure an extraordinarily comfortable wearing experience.
Alongside premium upper material, No. 967 is mainly set apart from conventional trainers through the Goodyear welting production method. Thanks to this masterful process completed in our Spanish factory, this blue men’s trainer is particularly true to fit yet pleasantly flexible.
‘Trainer’ is a catchall term that refers to athletic shoes. These types of shoes were first produced in America, in 1860. Known for their flexible rubber soles, these comfortable shoes were originally created for track and field events, the requirements of which continue to influence trainer design. Trainers have been popular since the 1960s, and are worn on an everyday basis. Today they are available in all kinds of forms and colours—the trainers in our collection, for instance, are special, premium models.
The athletic last is slightly wider than that used for classic men’s shoes. It is relatively wide at the ball of the foot and features a lightly rounded toe. A gently sloping instep and wide heel ensure perfect comfort. This last’s relatively straight arch at the heel and high top make it most suitable for average to wide feet.
Processed velours is an extremely fine, fully-dyed type of rough leather that is taken from the flesh side of the hide. Velours is extremely soft and resistant to soiling. It is easy to care for; regular brushing with a suede brush suffices to keep your velours shoes in good shape.
Some shoe brands churn out low-quality, glued-together models in mass quantities on conveyor belts. Not us: Our premium shoes are meticulously handcrafted from the finest leathers. You can see — and feel — the difference.
The gold standard when it comes to shoe manufacturing. Goodyear welting is a painstaking process that involves stitching the shaft and outsole to a thin strip of leather. Shoes made this way are extremely stable, durable, breathable, and easy to repair.
These shoes consist of roughly 65 separate parts. They took about 210 steps to assemble. We rely upon premium materials and traditional production methods to ensure that our footwear is of the absolute highest quality.
Of course, our focus is on your new pair of shoes. But to underline our passion for our products, we enclose a few extras in your shipment. We hope that sparks your excitement about your new footwear.
Our passion for our products is reflected in their packaging. All of our shoes come in an elegant black shoebox emblazoned with the SHOEPASSION.com logo. Said shoebox is easy to open, thanks to a special opening on the side, and comes with a note on our philosophy.
Should you find yourself in need of new shoelaces, look no further: this pair of Goodyear-welted shoes comes with a spare pair of shoelaces. Made of 100% cotton and treated with wax, these shoelaces are of the very best quality.
These shoes come stored inside two shoe bags, packed into a shoebox. Shoe bags are a great way to maintain their condition—they protect your footwear from soiling and scratching. They also let you transport your shoes in style.
SHOEPASSION - ONE STEP FURTHER
While most of our peers in the shoe industry are still unable to guarantee shoes that are »made in the EU«, we’re able to prove that our shoes are just that. We use leather from France and Germany, manufacture our shoes in Spain, and run distribution and logistics in Germany—our shoes are 100% made in Europe.
For many companies, all that matters are the profits; they fail to take notice of the disastrous conditions under which hides are taken in Bangladesh, or shoes are manufactured in China. We turn instead to traditional European tanneries and Spanish craftsmanship, to the benefit of man and nature alike.
Our promise: since you’re purchasing directly from the manufacturer, you’re spared the typical high margins. You’re also spared the additional cost of paying for a brand name. Thanks to our advantageous wide reach and our low cost structure, we’re able to offer sensationally low prices.
From the provenance and treatment of the leather we use, to the conditions in our Spanish factory, to delivery with our logistics partner, we don’t leave any stone unturned. We provide copious, transparent information on every step in our supply chain.
SHOEPASSION.com was founded by a pair of shoe lovers, and each and every employee focuses on satisfying our shoe-loving customers. Lots of brands are quick to conceal the production methods behind their products, as well as the origins of the materials they use. We, on the other hand, have nothing to hide. From the very beginning, our products have been »Made in the EU«, in the classic sense. As such, we treat both our fellow man and the natural environment in a way that’s ecologically sustainable and ethically responsible. Each step on our supply chain is entirely transparent for you to see—that’s a promise we’re happy to stand by.
